AGM – Friends of Cheshire Youth Orchestras Please come along to our AGM this coming Saturday morning. Find out what we have been up to, how we have raised money, and what it has been spent on. We would love to hear your views and suggestions, and you’ll be especially welcome if you’re willing to help make your idea a reality!
11.45 - Coffee The agenda is broadly: Chairman’s report Treasurer’s report Election of officers If anyone else is interesting in joining the committee, or standing for an office, please let us know. Please let us know if you may be coming, so we can estimate numbers for catering, and ensure enough chairs are set out in the rehearsal halls. Many thanks, as always, for all for your help and support.
Next Concert Tickets should be available this Saturday The timings are:
CYO rehearsal: 11.00 - 2.00 CYTO rehearsal: 2.00 - 3.00 Concert: 3.30 - 5.30 Please note that this concert is now one week earlier than previously scheduled. Please let Malcolm Peach know ASAP if there are any issues around the change of date.
Concert Raffle We will be holding the now traditional raffle at the next concert and we would be grateful for any donations for prizes. These can be handed in at rehearsal.
Concert Help We would greatly appreciate any help with selling programmes and raffle tickets at the concerts. If you can offer any time, please get in touch with any of the Friends (or just turn up about 1 hour before the concert).
Next rehearsals / September open days CYO open rehearsal – 14th September – for current CYO, CYO alumni & any interested newcomers (note, there is no CYTO rehearsal on this day). There will be goodie bag for anyone who brings along someone new. CYTO open rehearsal - 21st September.
Please sign up to the closed group to keep in touch with what is happening. This is open to CYO, CYTO, parents and guardians, friends, and former members.
Instrument Purchase Scheme Members of orchestras may use the CWAC purchase scheme for VAT-free purchase of musical instruments. Please contact Malcolm Peach by e-mail: malcolm.peach@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk
Easy Fund Raising - when you make purchases on-line: The Friends of the Cheshire Youth Orchestras are registered with Easy Fund Raising: www.easyfundraising.org.uk/fcyo It is very easy for you to register - name and e-mail address only, no bank or financial details required - and from then on all you have to do is log on to their site first, and then follow the links to which ever on-line shop you require – there is access to over 2000 retailers including M & S, Argos, and Amazon. The Friends will then receive a small donation to our funds, and it will cost you nothing at all.
Mid Cheshire College We have been asked to pass on a request from MCC (again): at the end of the morning break, please put all your rubbish in the bins provided. It is not fair on staff to have them going round cleaning up empty crisp packets, half finished drinks and sweet wrappers after rehearsal.
